   Système colonial, celui qui réserve le marché des colonies à la métropole et réciproquement, ou celui qui développe les établissements coloniaux en vue de l'extension des débouchés. Dans le premier sens on dit pacte colonial. Colbert et les autres partisans du système colonial. L'Angleterre a renoncé au système colonial.
